The Sunshine Smoothie is like a beam of sun in a glass! A crowd favorite, this smoothie is simple, quick and wonderfully nourishing. It’s also useful to know that mangoes are tridoshic, an Ayurvedic term that basically means “great for all types of bodies.”

 Ingredients

•1 frozen ripe banana

•1 mango, fresh or frozen*

•1 cup orange-mango juice (or orange juice), the fresher the better

 Directions

Place all of the ingredients in a blender and blend on low speed. After the ingredients begin to blend a bit, increase the speed to high until fully emulsified. Only add more juice (or water) if your blender can’t do the trick with the amount specified. Drink up and bask!

Makes 2 Servings

*Frozen mango works best, as it makes for a thick and creamy smoothie. To freeze, simply peel a ripe mango and cut it into one-inch chunks, whittling down to the pod as best as you can. Then, freeze in airtight plastic, leaving as much room as possible in between the chunks to avoid ending up with one big ice block of mango. To save time, you can prepare several mangoes and bananas at once, which will ensure a constant supply of this vitalizing smoothie!
